Youko Yeracaris, MD is President and Founder of Earth Spirit Health Associates, and is focused on contributing to transformative advances in medicine and health practices in the U.S. and abroad. She was practicing medicine as a board certified physician when she embraced her longstanding interest in holistic medicine. She is one of the founding members, and has served since 1997, on the Harvard School of Public Health Nutrition Roundtable Board, chaired by Walter Willet, MD, PhD. Dr Yeracaris has broad training in the management of chronic diseases including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal, and autoimmune disorders. 

Dr. Yeracaris became certified in medical acupuncture including chronic pain and substance abuse through UCLA in 1994 and 1995. She also became certified in homeopathy and has trained extensively in biomedical functional medicine and applied genomics. This integrative approach generates personalized treatment plans based upon a pathophysiologic and biochemical approach to healing and improved cellular function and can also be deployed to improve the health of populations. 

Areas of special interest include women’s health issues with a focus on herbal, nutrition and naturopathic treatment modalities. Dr. Yeracaris also has extensive experience in treating metabolic syndrome, endocrine and immune disorders, obesity, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, as well as providing nutrition and immune support for patients with cancer. She also employs effective integrative treatment approaches to neuro-behavioral disorders ranging from autistic spectrum disorders to Alzheimer’s disease. She is trained in “real age assessment” through Bioimpedance Analysis. 

Dr. Yeracaris has shared her expertise with patients and fellow health practitioners, and with the public through lectures, radio, and TV. She has worked internationally in Jamaica, Nicaragua, China, Kenya, and other across Africa. She embraces an integrative approach with self-empowerment of the individual and family in healing the body, mind, and spirit and is committed to contributing to the expansion of sustainable health and wellness to communities globally.
